'Transparency priority for Traffic police'

Jammu, Feb 9: To ensure highest degree of transparency in the working of Traffic Range Jammu, all the check posts from Lakhanpur upto Banihal have been closed and surprise mobile joint checking has been introduced in Jammu Zone. Drivers and commuters have been requested to register their complaints on 24X7 traffic help line numbers: 2459048, 9419147732 and 2582909 (from 1000 Hrs. to 1800 Hrs). "Any officer/official found indulging in such practices shall face strict action under law under intimation to the complainant. Complaints of the traffic violations, misbehavior, refusal overcharging, overloading use of tape recorder and mobile phones by the drivers can also be registered on above cited help line numbers for taking strict action against them," a statement of Traffic Police said.
