| Execution of Guru right but delayed action: Chaman | | | Early TImes ReporT
JAMMU, Feb 9: Terming the execution of Afzal Guru as right but a delayed action, the former Union Minister and MLA, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta said that attack on the Parliament was no doubt a very serious matter. It was strange that it took 12 years to meet the ends of justice. This indicated that there is a greater need to review the whole approach. Prof. Gupta said that this was outcome of a bigger game plan that the agents of the forces which intend to destabilize India and harm unity of the country. Hence, there should be the total review of the policies towards Pakistan as also to deal with elements who are breeding cross border terror. More than this the first task should be to make it clear to one and all that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and there was no room for any secessionism. It was unfortunate that instead of opting for this steadfast approach, the men in authority in New Delhi had been pursuing soft peddling under communal and other considerations, so much so, Jammu and Kashmir was granted a separate status, he added and observed that unless the State is put at par with other parts of country by having a free flow of the Indian Constitution, the communally diseased minds would continue to play the role of subversives. |
