JAMMU, Feb 9: In protest against the killing of girl student of Delhi Public School (DPS) in a tragic accident inside the school premises, the Dogra Front and Shiv Sena Jammu & Kashmir staged a protest demonstration here today. Led by Dogra Front and Shiv Sena Jammu & Kashmir president Ashok Gupta, a large number of party workers took out a procession from Parade Ground to City Chowk raising slogans that who is responsible for the death of Suruchi, either DPS administration which is running non permitted vehicles or Traffic department as it is not keeping an eye, or the Regional Transport Office, who granted permission to run the vehicles in the city The protesters alleged that bus which crushed the student of Delhi Public School (DPS) is being used by the school administration for the transportation of students doesn't hold any permission from RTO, which puts a question mark on the safety of the students of DPS as it is clear violation of the laid down norms. While addressing the gathering Ashok Gupta said that about 5700 students are getting education in DPS but the parking facility for 63 big buses and for small vehicles is insufficient due to which the movement of vehicles from there is very difficult and due to the heavy rush of students such kind of incidents are bound to happen. Gupta questioned that how RTO granted permission to the 28 private vehicles hired by the DPS and 27 owned vehicles of DPS as there is no space for the vehicles to be parked. He alleged that in most of the buses conductors are not available and if there would have been a conductor in the fateful bus, Suruchi would have not died. |
