Jammu, Feb 9: Death of a 7th standard student in DPS Jammu recently has triggered a controversy between parents of lesser mortals and wards of top police and civil officials. The officers whose children study in the school did not join the peace march organized by the Parents Association to pay tributes to the deceased student. The Association feels none of them seems interested in safety of the children. "Their drives come along with security guards and pick their children from the school", they said adding they cannot imagine the plight of common students who use school buses. "We are not against these officers in person but we expected them to join the march and lend their voice to the common cause", a member of the association said. Another parent saw a nexus between the school management and the senior state government and police officers in running the entire school against the guidelines of the Apex court. A mother of ninth class school student alleged that each day she accompany her daughter from school and at times it becomes difficult to cross the school lane due to overcrowding of official cars. |
