Jammu, Mar 13: Minister for Medical Education, Youth Services and Sports, Taj Mohi-ud-Din has said that to overcome the excessive load of maternity patients in the Lalla Ded hospital Srinagar, the construction work of Rs. 40.25 crore 200 bedded blocks in the Hospital is near completion and would be put to use shortly.
Reply to a question by Nasir Aslam wani in the House here today, the Minister said that one of the ward floor to converted into labour room in additional block is under consideration.
He said moreover by way of internal remodeling of adjacent areas to labour room, additional capacity of 40 beds is being created in the Lalla Ded hospital by next month. He said that Maternity Hospital Santnagar would be also made functional very soon.
The Minister said that Centre has approved the funding of Rs. 45.98 crore for construction of 200 bedded maternity hospital at Bemina against which Rs. 5 crore were released and work on this prestigious project has been taken up. |
