`Valley centric parties provoking for separate State: Khajuria
3/14/2013 12:39:55 AM

ET Plus Report
JAMMU, Mar 13: The Jammu centric political parties in Jammu and Kashmir State feel that attitude of Kashmir centric parties -National Conference and opposition Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP), is prompting them to demand separate State of Jammu and Ladakh region.
While reacting on the Melodrama in the Legislative Assembly yesterday and today, BJP MLA Ashok Khajuria said, "There is a deep conspiracy behind this ruckus, these parties (NC and PDP) are trying to provoke the people to demand a separate State by shouting the anti India slogans in the House."
"These parties are just trying to blackmail India by shouting anti India slogans," he added.
"On the one hand the NC leadership is engaged in competitive politics with PDP in the name of Afzal Guru, on the other hand Congress which is a coalition partner is maintaining a convenience silence," BJP noted.
Ashwani Sharma, Jammu State Morcha MLA said, "These mainstream leaders who are addressing Afzal Guru with 'Saheb' and 'Shaheed' are doing more than separatists to provoke the public."
"They should resign before shouting these anti-national slogans in the House, where does the oath of Constitution exist, which they have taken as a MLA?," he asked.
Sharma further said that the normal proceeding of the House should run smoothly and "we will not allow them to discuss the issues of the terrorists and anti nationals in the House."
These Jammu centric parties believe that Jammu is being discriminated with and it's interests are being ignored with only Kashmir issues dominating the Assembly proceedings with focus this time so far on Afzal Guru.
Jammu and Kashmir Panthers Party MLA Harshdev Singh said, "This ruckus is disrupting the proceedings of the House, the people of the State have some many other issues, which have to be discussed in the Assembly."
"I appeal to the Government to make an atmosphere in which the public grievances can be addressed," he added.
