| Khalid serves breach of privilege notice | | JAKFED employees' remarks | | Navneet Dubey JAMMU, Mar 13: Taking serious note of JAKFED employees for accusing Congress MLC Naresh Gupta of tarnishing the image of JAKFED under a political vendetta, Deputy Chairman Deputy Legislative Council Khalid Najeeb Suharwardhy today ordered serving breach of privilege notice to them. Deputy Chairman ordered, "Besides serving the breach of privilege notice, I will ask the Council secretary to take up the matter with Chief Secretary". Suharwardhy also informed that as promised a half an hour discussion will held in coming days. As soon as the proceedings for the day started, Congress MLCs Naresh Gupta and Jugal Kishore stood on the chairs, expressing serious concern over allegations leveled by JAKFED employees in press conference. Chairman Legislative Council Amrit Malhotra pacified the agitating members and asked them to raise the issue after Question Hour. Yesterday during a press conference JAKFED employees had alleged a political vendetta behind the JAKFED scam. They castigated Naresh Gupta over the accusations of Rs 1000 crores scam and the accusations of Naresh Gupta and others in this regard are aimed to tarnish the image of JAKFED and its employees. The employees have also alleged that the political vendetta has caused irreparable loss and affected the business of JAKFED. Later, Naresh Gupta while taking a serious note of the accusations said, "Yesterday JAKFED employees had leveled adverse remarks against the prestige and integrity of the House just to build a pressure to conceal the corruption in the JAKFED. The matter is already subjudice and it was an attempt to over reach and to silence the concerns of the House so that public may never find the truth. As the matter is under consideration of the House and it is the breach of the House. How the press conference was held in the office hours? Breach of privilege notices should be served to those JAKFED employees who took part in the press conference and the notice should be served against them and on whose behest this press conference was organized. Also as agreed the half an hour discussion on the issue should be held at the earliest". Couple of days back JAKFED scam worth over Rs 1000 crore rocked the House and it was alleged that Government has failed effect recovery from the employees and others involved and take action against some top officers including IAS and KAS. |
