Naqib demands release of youth
3/13/2013 11:41:20 PM

Srinagar, Mar 13: Senior Congress leader and renowned social activist Irfan Naqib has urged the state government to immediately release the youth who have been arrested in the last few days on the charges of alleged stone pelting in downtown areas here.
In a statement he said, "It is high time that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah asks the police to release all the youth who have been arrested since Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru was hanged last month."
Congress leader assured the families of the arrested youth that he will take up the issue at every possible forum for their release.
Naqib also urged New Delhi to return the mortal remains of Afzal to his family. "Humanity demands that body of Afzal should be returned to his family for proper burial. Before the situation goes out of hand, government should take a decision in this regard," he demanded.
