| NC Panch, ex-HM cadre held under arms act | | | Saahil Suhail ANANTNAG, Apr 12: Police during its nocturnal raids after getting specific information arrested a National Conference Panchayat representative along with Ex-militant of Hizub-ul-Maujaheed under Indian Arms Act at Banderpora Bijbehara in South Kashmir, police sources said. Sources said that the duo was arrested during night hours at Banderpora when they were on way to Bijbehara. Panch of ruling party National Conference was identified as Mohd Amin Khanday s/o Mohd Abdullah Khanday r/o Banderpora Kanelwan whereas the ex-militant has been identified as Mohd Abbas Sheikh s/o Gulam Hassan sheikh R/o Kiomoh Kulgam. Police has registered a case 22/13 under section 451, 506, 120-B, 7/25 IA Act and have seized a two wheeler bearing registration number JK03B 8488 from them. Meanwhile police sources said that though now unauthorized fire arm was recovered but police is investigating the case keenly as there were inputs that ex-militant was in a bid to reactivate himself for the last few months. "And after preliminary questioning of duo, said police sources and further added, " 3RR (Army) and police today in joint operation cordoned off the Moluhala Sofipora Khiram and home to home search operation was conducted.' "However no arrest nor weapon recovery was made during the search operation that continued for several hours during the day, sources added.
