Shafat for better medicare facilities to people
Rs. 5.26 Cr expended under NRHM in Pulwama

PULWAMA: Rs. 5.26 crores were incurred under National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) out of the allocated funds of Rs. 5.77 crores for providing better medicare facilities to the people of the district during previous financial year.
This was disclosed at a meeting held here today under the Chairmanship of the District Development Commissioner, Pulwama, Mr. Shafat Noor to review the physical and financial achievements under NRHM in Pulwama during last physical.
The meeting was informed that Rs. 22.25 lakh were utilized through Panchayat Raj Institutions for providing better sanitation facilities in rural areas of the district.
Reviewing the construction of 6-Sub-Health Centres of Pampore, Tral-Naristan, Tral-Poswan, Dogripora-Pulwama, Zaigam-Keller and Tumlahall under NRHM at a cost of Rs. 1.38 crore, it was given out that an amount of Rs. 1.10 crore have been expended during last physical.
The meeting was informed that the construction of three Sub Health Centres at Pampore, Tral and Zaigam has been completed and rest three Centres shall be completed within next four months. As many as 15 blood camps at different places of the district were organized and collected 646 blood donation points out of which 352 blood points were issued to other health institutions of the Valley.
Under Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY), the department has conducted 8430 deliveries through Asha’s and paid Rs. 91 lakhs as financial assistance to beneficiaries and Asha workers for providing better Medicare facilities, the meeting was informed.
The District Development Commissioner stressed upon the concerned to provide better health care facilities to the people at their door steps and ensure judicious use of funds. He directed them to complete all ongoing constructions immediately so that benefit could reach to the common people. Among others, the Joint Director Planning, Chief Medical Officer Pulwama, Block Medical Officers and other NRHM Officers were present in the meeting.
