| Div Com reviews Darbar Move arrangements | | | SRINAGAR: To take stock of the arrangements being put in for the ensuing Darbar Move, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Mr. Shalindra Kumar today convened a high level meeting of officers here today. Threadbare discussions were held for making available of residential accommodations for the officers besides sanitation and renovation works. Director Estates informed the meeting that adequate arrangements are being made for the accommodation of Move employees and measures have been taken to facilitate them. He said all necessary works including renovation and construction of two additional blocks are in final phase. Divisional Commissioner enjoined upon the concerned officers to ensure availability of the essentials like adequate water supply, Medicare facilities and LPG supply besides un-interrupted power supply. He also directed for smooth plying of traffic besides availability of satisfactory transport facilities for these employees. The meeting was informed that for the facilitation of Move employees a control room has been set up with telephone number 0194-2452435 in the office of Deputy Director Estates which shall be functional w.e.f May 04. It was also informed that different teams shall also be deployed by the Estates Department at various colonies/Hotels to facilitate the move employees to their allotted accommodations. A grievance redressal cell/helpline has also been established with the toll free number 18001807025 through which move employees housed in government and rented accommodations can register their grievances regarding sanitation, water, electricity and other related problems if any. The Divisional Commissioner stressed for completing all maintenance and upgradation works including upgradation of bathroom blocks in Secretariat well before the opening of opening of Secretariat offices in the Summer Capital. Mr. Kumar exhorted upon traffic authorities to ensure one way traffic on the National Highway on April 27, 28 and May 4 & 5, 2013 from Jammu to Srinagar and no vehicle shall be allowed to move from Srinagar to Jammu on the said dates for the smooth movement of vehicles carrying employees and Secretariat record during the Darbar Move. He also directed JKSRTC authorities to make proper arrangements of transport facility besides upgradation of fleet for Secretariat employees. Divisional Commissioner urged upon SMC authorities to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in and around the Civil Secretariat and at move employees. He also asked them to take effective measures for dewatering of accumulated rain water in low lying areas. Mr. Kumar directed the health department for making availability of healthcare facilities on various spots of national highway besides setting up of medical camps at TRC and Tulsibagh during transit days to meet out any eventuality. The Div Com also urged for making all landline telephones functional well before opening of Darbar. He also directed floriculture department to put up live plants in and around the Secretariat besides enjoined upon concerned to expedite all renovation and facelift works well before opening of Summer Secretariat at Srinagar. Among others, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Director Estates, Commissioner, SMC, Director Health Services Kashmir, Director CA&PD, Chief Engineers of PHE, R&B, PDD, Managing Directors of JKSRTC & JKPCC, SSP Security Civil Secretariat, SSP Srinagar, Joint Director Information Kashmir and other officers attended the meeting. |
