Bhalla says ‘Lord Mahavira preaching’s essential for world peaceful, prosperity
‘Announces Rs. 10 lakh for SS Jain Sabha’

JAMMU, Apr 24: Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture Mr. Raman Bhalla stressed upon the people to follow the noble path shown by Bhagwan Mahavir who reminds us of the importance of practicing of ahimsa, compassion, harmony and peace in our personal as well as social life.
This was stated by the Minister while addressing a function organized on the 2612th birth anniversary celebration of Lord Mahavira at Gen. Zorawar Singh auditorium in Jammu University by SS Jain Sabha (SSJS).
MLA Ashok Khajuria, President SSJS Virender Jain, Vice President Giat Jain besides other representatives of SSJS including families in large numbers were present on the occasion. Mr. Bhalla congratulated the Jain community on the auspicious day of Mahavir Jayanti and paid floral tributes to Ahimsa Avtar Bhagwan Mahavir.
Saying that preaching of great saints and Gurus like Lord Mahavira have great significance for promoting world peace and prosperity, Mr. Bhalla called upon the people to infuse such spiritual teachings in their lives to fight the challenges of today’s era. He said teachings of Lord Mahavira have more relevance in present time for heralding peace, prosperity and amity in the State, as the society is lurching in materialistic greed’s and spirituality is the only tool to liberate them from this unending web of self-destruction.
Mr. Bhalla said Government has prepared a plan of Rs. 2.18 crore for construction of 3-storey SS Jain Community Hall at Panama Chowk near Bahu Plaza, which is under progress on war-footing and would be completed within stipulated time frame. He said the multipurpose community hall would be constructed on modern lines with the facilities of parking slot, landscaping, kitchen and toilet blocks. He said that the R&B department has been asked to complete the prestigious project within stipulated time so that the community could be benefitted to arrange their social as well as religious functions there.
On the occasion, the Minister announced Rs. 10 lakh out of constituency development fund (CDF) for the community hall. He said he has already paid Rs. 20 lakh for this purpose for early completion of the project.Earlier, the students of Shri Mahavir Jain Higher Secondary School, Jain Taruni Mandal, Shraman Sangh, Jain Dharmik Pathshala highlighted the teachings and life of BHagwan Mahavir through cultural items which was highly appreciated by the jam-packed audience. Later, Jain Yuvak Sangh honoured the meritorious children of the community who have excelled in the field of education, sports and other curricular activities at the State or national level.
