ANANTNAG: Minister for Public Enterprises, Hajj, Auqaf and Floriculture, Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed Sunday said that Government puts all out efforts to ameliorate the lot of people especially living in far off areas of the State, adding the life standard of these people shows positive change. The Minister was addressing a large public meeting in Larnoo area of South Kashmir. Peerzada said that the area which was backward in educational and other sectors, has shows tremendous improvement and now by the efforts of Government, as many as 2 Degree Colleges, 16 Higher Secondary Schools, 39 High Schools, 48 Middle Schools and 124 Primary Schools are functioning in the area. He said there are number of health institutions in the area which include one PHC, Sub Centres and Dispensaries, besides one District Hospital, equipped with latest machinery. He said Rs. 13.50 crore spent on the installation of Central Heating System in District Hospital. The Minister also listed the other endeavour of the coalition Government and said that 116 transformers were provided under RGGVY, besides providing poles and conductor in 34 habitations. He said various bridges and link roads are under execution under centrally sponsored PMGSY. He said 38 kilometre road length have been macadamized in the district during last year. Peerzada Sayeed called upon the people to maintain peace and tranquillity so that the programmes of development and welfare go to its logical end. The officers of District Administration Anantnag accompanied the Minister. |
