Govt approves Rs. 2.5 cr for WSS at Khawaskah pind: Bhalla

JAMMU, Apr 28: To meet the requirement of drinking water in Khawaskah pind, Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture Mr. Raman Bhalla said that Government has approved Rs. 2.5 crore under Water Supply Scheme Khawaskah, adding that under the scheme, a deep drill tube well and Over Head Tank of one-lakh storage capacity will be constructed soon after completing the codal formalities.
This was informed by the Minister during a Public Grievance Redressal Camp at village Rohi Pind.
Officers of PHE, PDD, R&B and RDD were present on the occasion.
Mr. Bhalla said Government is making all out efforts to develop rural pockets with improved basic amenities at par with urban centres, adding that for this purpose Government has formulated a comprehensive plan to meet the development issues of the areas.
The Minister said the Government is endeavouring hard for creating adequate infrastructure in every nook and corner of the State. He said that Government is committed to provide all basic amenities like road connectivity, drinking water, power, education, health besides better lanes and drains in every area of the State.
Responding to the locals demand, Mr. Bhalla said Government has allocated Rs. 1.50 crore for construction of Rohi-Pind-Lower Gaddigarh link road, adding that the project would be started shortly after completing tendering formalities. Regarding supply of improved and un-interrupted power in the village, he asked the PDD to prepare detailed Project Report and submit the same for funding for early resolve the genuine problem of the area.
The Minister called upon the people to regularize the power connections and approached the PDD authorities for installation of meters.
He said Government is committed to supply un-interrupted power in themetered areas of the State.
Mr. Bhalla assured the inhabitants of the Rohi Pind that their genuine demands would be solved in a phased manner. He said there is no constraint of funds for developing all the areas of rural pockets with improved basic amenities.
Listing the measures taken by the Government in Rohi Pind and Lower Gaddigarh, the Minister informed that Government has earmarked Rs. 3.62 crore for construction of PHC at Lower Gaddigarh, Rs. 1.5 crore for Community Hall, Rs. 70 lakh Cremation Ground and Rs. 1 crore for Tehsildar office building at Lower Gaddigarh. He said the projects are under progress on war-footing and would be completed within stipulated time frame. He said that the upcoming projects would have all latest facilities.
For the convenience of the villagers, Mr. Bhalla said Government has earmarked Rs. 1.50 crore for construction of 50-meter vented causeway over Balol Nallah and approach road at Rohi village. He said with the completion of vented causeway, areas like Shergarh, Dharap, Lower Gaddigarh, Khawaskah and Babliana would get a reliable road connectivity thus meeting the long pending demand of the people of these areas. He asked the executing agency to complete the projects within set time frame by using quality material to improve road connectivity.
Earlier, at Bisant Vihar in Trikuta Nagar, Mr. Bhalla kick started upgradation work of lanes and drains, for which Government has earmarked Rs. 17.50 lakh. He asked the executing agency to complete the construction works of lanes, drains including mecademisation works well before the start of monsoon.
