SRINAGAR, May 29: A Lok Adalat was held in the premises of Sadder Court Complex, Srinagar under the supervision of Principal District and Sessions Judge, Srinagar, Mr. Mohammad Shafi Khan here today.
As many as 257 cases were taken up, out of which 146 cases were settled amicably on spot. An amount of Rs. 2,90,000/- were awarded as compensation in various Motor Accident Claims and Rs. 50,900/- fine was recovered in various petty criminal offences.
Meanwhile, another Lok Adalat was organized by Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Budgam under the Chairmanship of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Budgam, Mr. Gowhar Majeed Dalal along with Munsiff JMIC, Budgam, Ms. Fauzia Paul.
As many as 90 cases were taken up, out of which 35 cases were settled amicably in the said Lok Adalat. |
