SRINAGAR, May 29: To encourage abstinence from all forms of Tobacco consumption and to make people aware about the negative health effects of Tobacco use, various activities shall be organized in Srinagar district. District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Mr. Farooq Ahmad Shah in this connection today convened a meeting of officers to finalize the arrangements for observing the ‘’World No Tobacco Day’’ in Srinagar city. It was decided that on May 31, 2013 a rally of members of Youth Services and Sports, students, teachers, NGOs, members of Civil Society and Civil Defence besides district administration shall be organized from Nehru Park to SKICC and shall be flagged off by District Development Commissioner, Srinagar while rallies in collaboration with School Education Department, Youth Services and Sports and J&K Voluntary Health and Development Association shall also be organized at different places in the district. Among others, SSP Srinagar, SP Traffic Srinagar, Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, Principal, Government B.Ed College, Srinagar, Principal, Government Women’s College, Srinagar, Chief Education Officer, Srinagar, Chief Medical Officer, Srinagar, Drug Enforcement Officer besides Executive Director Jammu and Kashmir Voluntary Health and Development Association participated in the meeting. It was also decided that inter-school symposium shall be held at Government College for Women, Srinagar. |
