| Sakina lays foundation stone of OBC girl’s hostel at IUST | | | Early Times Report
AWANTIPORA, May 29: Minister for Social Welfare, ARI and Trainings, Ms. Sakina Itoo, distributed cheques worth Rs 1.056 crore under various scholarship schemes among 454 students undergoing various professional and technical courses at Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) here today.
The Minister also laid foundation stone of OBC girl’s hostel of IUST being constructed at the cost of Rs. 5.77 crore.
Earlier, Ms. Itoo attended the function “NOORAN” a knowledge drive of book donation in the University campus.
Speaking of the occasion, Ms. Sakina said that book donation campaign is a welcome gesture and sign to spread the precious wealth of knowledge among new generation. She said that the aim of the drive is to transform the idea of donating books to enrich the University library so that needy and poor students could be benefited.
The Minister appreciated IUST for leading the University towards heights of success and urged upon them to keep up the tempo of providing quality education besides inculcating moral and ethical values among the students so that university could produce fertile brains.
