UDHAMPUR: To acquaint the farmers about the latest techniques in farming, the Agriculture Department Udhampur organized one day awareness camp under National Food Security Mission scheme at village Ossu and Kotli Balla in zone Samroli falling under Sub Division Agriculture Officer, Udhampur.
A large number of famers of the area including women participated in the camp.
Agriculture Extension Officer, Samroli, Jyoti Parkash Sharma delivered lecture about the paddy sowing, seed treatment, soil testing before sowing, balance dose of fertilizer, pesticides and other problems faced by the famers in the field.
Junior Agriculture Extension Officer said that a number of schemes for the cultivation of Paddy and maize is being sponsored by state as well as central government for the welfare of farmers. He along with Agriculture expert, Mr. Dinesh Chander distributed paddy seed among farmers under the National Food Security Mission Scheme, free of cost.
Local Sarpanch, Bodh Raj and Subhash Chander and Panches also spoke on the occasion. |
