| DG Prisons visits district Jail Pulwama | | |
SRINAGAR: Director General of Prisons , K. Rajendra Kumar today paid a visit to District Jail Pulwama and took stock of the on- going works under execution at the site.
Deputy Commissioner, Pulwama, DIG Pulwama, Addl. District Magistrate Pulwama, SSP Pulwama, Dy SP DAR Pulwama, Commanding Officer of 55 RR and Company Commander accompanied.
On this occasion DG Prisons raised some issues related to functioning of district Jail. He said that the security forces presently stationed at District Jail Pulwama need to be relocated and the prisoners under trail also needs to be lodged near the trial courts to facilitate the relatives who have to travel long distances in meeting their nears and dears lodged in the district Jail and provide solace from the hardship
Pertinently, Deputy Commissioner agreed to get the premises vacated by security forces who will be given another location in the Districts for their occupation. He also agreed to allot bore well and will also arrange special feeder line for Jail inmates. He said that instructors would be arranged for imparting vocational training to inmates of the Jail.
Moreover, Director General of Prisons issued on the spot directions to the Technical Wing of Prisons Department for shifting of main gate to other suitable side. In this regard the Technical Wing of the Department has been directed to take up the matter with District Development Commissioner Pulwama immediately. |
