| Lack of consensus on Return issue: Senior KP leaders sabotaging ,,....? | | If elusion continues, Youth say they would follow 'own' course | | Et Report
Jammu, Aug 1 : Even as the senior leaders affiliated with various organizations of Kashmiri Pandits are upbeat and euphoric about the response of the Parliamentary Standing Committee members with regard to their assertion for settlement of issues pending before the state government, the youth are sore over the fact that none among the 10 member delegation represented youth of the community nor were their views taken into consideration during the course of deliberations with the Parliamentary panel.Ruing delay over implementation of PM's package for the community, one of the youth bodies YAIKS has cautioned if consensus continues to elude among the 'senior' leaders representing prominent KP organizations, the youth would be forced to take recourse to the 'option' they deem proper on the return issue. Two days after the Parliamentary panel meeting with KP leaders, this was explicitly expressed by Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj President R. K. Bhat in the meeting held Additional Secretary K. Shandan, Ministry of Home affairs at North Block New Delhi today. Even though the Youth leader was specifically called there to discuss the PMs Rehabilitation Package for Kashmiri Migrants besides employment package, the issue of elusive consensus figured during the course of discussion in today's meeting as well. RK Bhat pointed out that there were loopholes and shortcomings in the PM's package in present form which needed to be plugged and addressed in meaningful perspective but what has been ailing the issue is lack of consensus over the return issue in particular which is delaying a concrete action plan from the Centre. Sources said apart from YAIKS , there are youth in general who nourish this feeling that majority of the leaders who remain in the fore front of crucial meetings with Centre or prestigious panels like the one that held meeting two days back instead of pushing ahead the issue vigorously are dithering over the issue as most of them do not have intensions nor are interested in return to Kashmir. Though there are at least three substantive proposals floated from various bodies for the return proposal but none of these tried to sit and discuss and evolve a common ground which is why this is getting delayed . While YAIKS has objected to this approach of wavering and dithering stand, it has now put forth before the Home ministry, if such state of affairs continues, youth would be left with no option than to find out its 'own' formula that would suit majority of youth of the community who are suffering on multitude fronts. |
