| Wani questions PDP's programs, stays mum on his own | | NC shaken by PDP's fervour | | ET Report Srinagar, Aug 1: In a clear knee jerk reaction to aggressive campaigning by the Peoples' Democratic Party across the state in last few weeks, National Conference rather than putting their agenda for the forthcoming Assembly elections ion public domain and convince the electorate of its programs has started questioning the programs of the PDP. Facing serious charges of discrimination from Jammu and Ladakh regions of the state, National Conference Provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani on Thursday ridiculed Peoples Democratic Party patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed's assertion on "Imaginary solution" to Kashmir issue if given 40 seats reminding them that with 16 seats they divided the state, if ever they get 40 which people will never let them we can only foresee death and destruction. "If there is anything that PDP or its leaders cannot be faulted for, it is the fact that they have no dearth of cunning and tricks in his kitty" said Wani adding "Their latest plea to the people of the state to give his party a 40 seat mandate in 2014 is one clear cut example of this. They are trying to cash in and trade on the false solution to the Kashmir imbroglio" he added. Selling Autonomy as the only viable and gettable solution wani said "Autonomy report and the resolution adopted by the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly represents the true aspiration of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and it has the approval of a 2/3rd majority of the state's legislature which makes it the only constitutionally approved document". Contrary to the reports of sagging morale within the NC cadre in the valley, Wani said "PDP is a sinking ship and its leaders are so horrified with the future they are perceiving that to keep their flock intact they are issuing such bizarre statements" adding "People are well versed with their petty politics and politically aware about false baits that Mufti sahib is dangling before them" said Nasir adding "Their statement reflect desperation and no one can deny that". |
