| KPs castigate Government for ignoring PC recommendations | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 1: Launching a scathing attack on government for ignoring the recommendations of Parliamentary Committee, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo opined that the role of the government has been dismal. Addressing media persons, Charungoo expressed surprise that the recommendations made by the august Committee have not been shared with the leadership of the community till date not to talk of the implementation part. He thanked and lauded the Committee for the pain it has expressed in the report over the plight of the displaced people in J&K state. Chrungoo also advocated for a mechanism to monitor the implementation of the recommendations of the committee. He also presented a copy of the Report on Policy and Procedure tor Return of Ex-Militants in J&K state to the Chairman of the committee. H.L.Chatta in his presentation lambasted the government for its failure to pass the Temples Bill in the Legislature which is in the select committee of the House. He also said that the killers of the Kashmiri minorities are roaming free in the streets of Kashmir and government has not taken any action against them. He also said that up till date no punitive action has been taken against the people responsible for the rise of fundamentalism and terrorism in the valley. H.N Jattu said that time was not ripe for return of the community to the valley. He mentioned that the geo-political aspirations of the community with free now of Indian constitution are the fundamental hall mark for any blue-print of return in future. He gave a detailed account of the security situation of the valley and narrated in detail the current mindset of the fundamentalist forces in the valley in respect of the KP community. Rakesh Kaul (who had especially arrived from Delhi for the press conference), in his address made an emotional speech regarding the pitiable conditions of the displaced community in the Jagti camp and also the sorry state of affairs of the displaced traders and teachers of Delhi.
