Army Bikers to keep a 'sharp eye' on Shri Budha Amar Nath yatra

Rajouri, Aug 1: Besides police and security forces deployment 36 specially trained soldiers trained by the Station HQ (Artillery Brigade), under the aegis of Infantry Division, equipped with modern communication systems will keep eagle's eye on miscreants on Jammu-Poonch highway in twin border Rajouri-Poonch districts during scheduled Shri Budha Amar Nath pilgrimage starting from Friday.
As per sources it is first time when army has deployed 36 bikers from Sunderbani (entry point to district) to Bhimber Gali (entry point to district Poonch) to keep an eye on the yatra.
" These bikers have been provided modern communication gadgets including GPS, satellite telephones etc and will be deployed on Jammu-Poonch high way at meeting points of link roads, sources said.
They added that keeping in focus that ANEs/militants after targeting security forces/pilgrims in Kashmir use link roads to avoid tracking/tracing by the security forces .
"These trained soldiers, not provided weapons, will not engage with in fighting with such anti national elements (ANEs) but will immediately inform the stand by teams of quick reaction teams (QRTs) and will chase the ANEs till the QRT team reaches there, sources said.
They further maintained that after about one month sustained filed training enroute the venue of yatra, the members of bikers squad will take their position early in the morning on Friday the day when first batch of the pilgrims will enter the district near Bhamla (Sunderbani)
For the last few years VHP and Bajrang Dal have been organizing Shri Budha Amar Nath pilgrimage and first batch of pilgrims will be flagged off and after visiting Shiv Khori temple in district Reasi the batch will reach at Rajouri at about 1 pm where they will be greeted by Shri Budha Amar Nath Yatra Nias Rajouri (SBAYNR) headed by Sat Pal Sharma,and district administration.
Like every year SBAYNR will provide lunch and tea for the pilgrims during their to and fro journeys which will conclude on August,12 . SBAYNR also provide medical help to the pilgrims besides other facilities.
