| No let up in Pak mischief: Indian posts targeted again | | 9th violation in 3 days, 4th in last 24 hrs | | Et Report
Rajouri/Jammu, Aug 13: With no let up in incidents of ceasefire violation from across the border, the Pakistan troops once again targeted Indian forward posts and civilian areas along Line of Control (LoC) in Balakote sector of Mendhar in Poonch district while similar incident was reported on international Border in Samba Sector today afternoon. This is ninth ceasefire violation in last three days and fourth in last 24 hrs. Officials reports stated that the Pakistan army violated ceasefire Monday night as its troops fired with light, medium and heavy range weapons targeting Indian forward areas of 5 Grenadiers and 15 Bihar regiment. They said intermittent firing was reported between 1030hrs to 0530 hrs along Line of Control (LoC). The locals confirmed that Pak army was targeting forward Indian post and local population. Army officers confirmed that there was firing from Light, Medium and heavy range weapons including LMG, MMG Atliary Shell on forward Indian posts. Meanwhile ceasefire violations continued along International Border (IB) also as Pakistan Rangers opened fire at Indian positions along the International Border in Ramgarh of Samba Sector on Tuesday. "The Pakistani Rangers opened unprovoked fire targeting Indian post at Narayanpur in Ramgarh sector in the Samba district, Jammu and Kashmir, at around 0730 hrs, said an official spokesperson. BSF spokesperson added the continuous firing lasted for about 15 minutes. "Our troops retaliated effectively, he said and added there was no loss of life or injury to anyone in the firing from Pakistan." Pertinent to mention here that in view of the border skirmishes, BSF Director General Subash Joshi had visited forward areas along the International Border in Jammu and reviewed the security situation there on Monday. |
