Kishtwar reels under curfew for 5th day
BJP demands suspension of DIG

Kishtwar, Aug 13: Kishtwar continued to reel under fifth consecutive day of strict curfew restrictions even as no untoward incident was reported from the town or its adjoining areas. Rains lashed the area Tuesday, confining the locals to stay indoors.
In order to cool down the tempers, administration today called the meeting of senior citizens from Muslim community which was attended by MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, MLC Syed Asgar Ali, Youth President NC Imtiyaz Zarger, beside DC Kishtwar Baseer Khan, DIG Ashkoor Ahmed Wani and Commandant 9 Sector RR Kishtwar.
All the participants stressed upon maintaining peace and communal harmony beside restoration of confidence among the people. Syed Asgar Ali and Saroori condemned the random arrest of the youths and demanded that arrest of any person should be made after the outcome of judicial probe announced by the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. They said that any wrong action on part of the police will effect and dilute the outcome of the probe.
Saroori stressed for strengthening of security in and around the areas where either Muslim or Hindu community was living in minority. All the speakers also demanded compensation to the effected people beside jobs for the next of the kin of those who had lost their lives in the tragic clashes. They also demanded phase wise relaxation in curfew.
Meanwhile BJP decided not to attend any meeting called by the administration. While talking to "Early Times", BJP National Youth Executive Members Sunil Sharma said that his party will boycott all the meetings called by the administration till the DIG Doda-Kishtwar range Ashkoor Ahmed Wani was suspended and replaced. He said that DIG failed in protecting the life and property of the people of minority community. He said that DIG along with MoS Home Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo were conspiring to create communal situation.
In another development, the arrested separatist leader Molvi Abdul Qayoom Mattoo along with other arrested persons has started fasting inside police lock for up. They alleged that the after being invited for talks by the police, they were betrayed and arrested. They also alleged that instead of taking action against the real culprits, police arrested them to cover up their failure.
