JAMMU, Aug 13: In an effort to diffuse the prevailing tension in the wake of Kishtwar incident, the Pradesh Youth Congress today took out a peace march at Chandan Vihar, Lakshmi Nagar and Muthi area in the outskirts of the city.
The march was led by President, President Jammu -Poonch Lok Sabha Youth Congresst Satish Sharma. There was an active participation of youth from all sections of the society in the rally wherein the emphasis was laid on maintaining the cordial atmosphere in Jammu.
Appealing the youth to maintain peace and communal harmony in the state, Satish Sharma said that secularism is backbone of our country and we must stick to the principles laid by our great leaders. He further appealed the authorities to deal the disturbing elements of the society with an iron hand and not to allow anyone to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere.
Sharma condemned the Kishtwar violence and expressed grief over the loss of human life and property. He also appealed the state government to provide adequate compensation to those who have incurred losses. Others who were present on the occasion includ Ram Mohammad, Sunil Sharma, Vijay Kumar, Raman Choudhary, Rohit, Ankush, Zaffar, Bilal Ahmad, Murtaza Wani and Maninder Singh. |
