Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 13: In a move to give impetus to sports, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have finalised its much awaited Sports Policy draft and subsequently submitted it with the Police Headquarters for the consideration, approval and acceptance. "The draft of the much awaited Sports Policy of the J&K Police has been submitted with the Headquarters for final approval. Soon the dream of a comprehensive document, guiding sports in the department, would become a reality," a reliable source said. The much awaited document took a final shape only after present Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Armed, SM Sahai took a keen interest. "Under consideration since long, the Policy took the final shape only after ADGP SM Sahai took over the charge of the Armed Police. He was keen to formulate the Sports Policy and get it implemented in true spirit," the sources informed. The draft of the Sports Policy has very clearly mentioned about various incentives to the sportspersons in the J&K Police, especially promotion avenues, which follows the achievements at the national and international level. As and when implemented, the document would help generate employment opportunities for those budding talent in the state. "The Sports Policy has clearly defined the criterion for employing young athlete in various disciplines and their grooming in already established set up under the guidance of senior coaches with an ultimate aim of achieving the desired results at the national and international level," disclosed a source. The document also includes directions with regard to establishment of required infrastructure at the district level with focus on Capital cities. |
