| J&K people hail SC order on 'Kishtwar clashes' | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 13: The directions of Division Bench of the Supreme Court of India headed by Chief Justice P Sathasivam comprising Justice Ranjana Desai and Justice Ranjan Gogoi directing the Chief Secretary of J&K to file a detailed affidavit on the petition filed by J&K National Panthers Party on the Kishtwar situation was hailed by different sections of the society throughout J&K. Pertinently a petition was argued by Prof Bhim Singh, Sr Advocate seeking urgent intervention of the Supreme Court of India for the safe and secured passage of the stranded Machel Mata pilgrims between Kishtwar and Gulabgarh (Padar) since 9th August, 2013. Senior councilor also has sought facilities for all the stranded pilgrims which include children, women and elder people (numbering 257) stranded enroute to yatra according to the Govt. of J&K. Besides this Prof Singh also has sought judicial inquiry into the horrifying tragic incident that shook the entire humanity on Eid Day resulting into death of three persons and many injured besides damage to private/public properties in the presence of the administration and the police. The Supreme Court rejected the prayer of J&K government that affidavit may be filed by the Home Secretary while accepting the plea of Prof. Bhim Singh. Prof Singh also had submitted that the Chief Justice of J&K may be requested to appoint a sitting judge of the High Court so that the real culprits should be brought to justice. The Supreme Court shall hear the matter on Wednesday, the 21st August, 2013. |
