Rajouri, Aug 13: An Army jawan has allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said today. Naik Shiv Gorda, posted with 54 Rastriya Rifles (RR) of the Army, shot himself with his rifle at a forward post in Jangarh border belt of the district last evening, they said.
The deceased, who belongs to Karnataka, died on the spot, police added.
The Army has ordered a Court of Inquiry (CoI) into the incident to ascertain the reason behind the suicide, officials said.
PDP suspends Subhan Din of Gool

Srinagar, Aug 13: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended Master Subhan din the vice president District Reasi for his anti-party activities.
In a statement a party spokesman said that Master Subhan was served a show cause notice against his involvement in anti-party activities a month earlier and has failed to answer the same. Taking strong notice of this the party has decided to suspend his membership forthwith. |
