9/1/2013 10:36:13 PM

Early Times Report

Kathua, Sept 1: Mahila Mandal Badala held a protest at Mukharji Chowk here against the lesser punishment awarded by the Juvenile Court to Delhi gang rape accused and demanded the accused must be given at least life imprisonment.
President of Mahila Mandal Updesh Andotra who led the protest said three years sentence to the convict in Nirbay gang rape is less and justice has not been done with victim's family and people of the country. "Fewer sentences will encourage criminal minds to flourish the crime against the women," they said.
The protestors demanded that verdict should be re-examined and the punishment be resettled keeping in view the sentiments of the people of the country and the height of the crime.
