| Dogra Front, Shiv Sena hold protest against petrol price hike | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 1: Activists of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena on Sunday took out a procession against the hike in prices of fuel, Rs 2.53 in petrol and 50 paise in diesel by pulling car with rope under the leadership of President Ashok Gupta at Rani Park. Addressing on the occasion, Gupta said that the common man in the country is reeling under the pressure of continuous price rise. The government needs to give relief to the people by taming inflation. "Instead government is heaping further load on the people by raising prices from rail to oil. Dogra Front and Shiv Sena condemn government's decision to raise diesel prices under the garb of allowing OMCs to review prices periodically," he said. He further said that the government has not declared its Hydrocarbon Pricing Policy though promised in the UPA manifesto and President's address. There is no consistency in policy and decisions. It changed Petroleum Ministers 5 times and changed pricing decisions 15 times. This adhocism is causing irreparable loss to the economy. He further stated that in last one year, the petrol prices were raised by twelve rupees, the diesel prices were raised by eight rupees.
This will increase the prices of all commodities, all transports and people will really be paying heavily. |
