| Bovine smuggling bid foiled, one held | | | early times report
Udhampur, Oct 25: Police foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling with the arrest of one bovine smuggler and rescue of 14 animals during a naka raid in area falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Rehmbal Udhampur.
"Based on reliable information, a Police party of Police Post Tikri led by I/C Police Post Tikri SI Nishant Gupta, laid a surprise naka at NHW near Tikri Chowk in the wee hours and intercepted one Truck (JK02W/5171) on its way from Jammu towards Kashmir, police said.
Police reports said that during the thorough search of the Vehicle, 14 Bovine Animals were found packed inside this Vehicle. The accused identified namely as Mohd Nazam S/o Kala Khan R/o Kansa Reasi was arrested on the spot and bovine animals rescued while vehicle used was seized.
In this connection, a case FIR No.175/13 U/S 188/RPC 3 PCA Act stands registered at Police Station Rehmbal and further investigation of the case is going on.
