BJP demands snapping of dialogue process with Pakistan
Says talks can't go side by side with terrorism
10/25/2013 10:55:40 PM
Jehangir Rashid

SRINAGAR, Oct 25: Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) today asked the central government to stop dialogue with Pakistan saying that terrorism and talks can't go on at the same time. The party said that Pakistan army pounded Indian Army posts even during the visit of Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde to the International Border few days.
Addressing a press conference here this morning, National Spokesman BJP, Prakash Javadkar said that talks between Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and his Pakistan counterpart Mian Nawaz Sharief have failed to rein in the Pakistan Army. Prakash said that time to teach Pakistan a lesson has come and New Delhi should convey its displeasure to Islamabad without any further wastage of time. "As the Prime Minister was engaged in talks with his Pakistan counterpart the Pakistan troops had entered the Keran sector. When Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah accompanied the Home Minister to International Border the Pakistan Army resorted to shelling. This shows the attitude of Pakistan and its army towards the efforts being made to normalize relations between India and Pakistan," said Prakash.
The BJP national spokesman said that 52 posts of Indian Army were targeted during the visit of Omar and Shinde to International Border. He said terror camps are operating in Pakistan and that country continues to support the terror elements. He added that continuous shelling from Pakistan near the Line of Control and International Border is not acceptable to the people.
"There are many political and diplomatic options available to us in order to show our displeasure to Pakistan over the continuous acts of shelling and the acts of terror going on. Over the past two months more than 200 cases of ceasefire violation have taken place and the process is going on. Enough is enough and time to teach Pakistan a lesson has come since our Jawans get killed and injured on LoC and IB," said Prakash. The BJP national spokesman said that Pakistan strategy has always been Kashmir centric and they would do anything in order to create disturbance in this state. He said the only thing about the resolution of Kashmir issue that needs to be addressed is that territory of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) is merged with state of Jammu & Kashmir.
"We cannot allow the beheading of our soldiers near the Line of Control and at the same time it is very important to stop the random incidents of firing and ceasefire violation near the LoC and IB. Pakistan would continue to disappoint us and this can stop only when a strong message is given to them," said Prakash.
The BJP national spokesman accused Congress Vice-President, Rahul Gandhi of insulting the Muslim community of the country by saying that some Muslim youth of Muzaffar Nagar are in touch with ISI and want to get arms training. He said Home Minister owes an explanation since Rahul has given this statement after receiving the briefing from Intelligence Bureau.
Referring to investigations going on in coal-gate scandal, Prakash said that Prime Minister should resign since he put in the final signature as far as allocation of coal reserves to 140 companies is concerned. He said PM has only mentioned about allocation of coal reserves to Hindalco and kept mum over the allocation to other companies.
