| Three arrested in Padder violence case | | First arrest in anti India sloganeering | | Kishtwar Violence Asif Iqbal Naik KISHTWAR, Oct 25: Kishtwar police today made the first arrest in connection with the FIR No: 200/2013 registered U/S 153-A/ 120-B at police station Kishtwar against the miscreants involved in raising anti Indian, Pro Azadi, Pro Geelani and Pro Taliban slogans during Eid-ul-Azha procession on 16-10-2013 near a temple in old bazaar Kishtwar and inside Chowghan ground. As per the details, police arrested Mushtaq Ahmed son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Berwar Kishtwar in connection with the FIR No: 200. The sources said that after hectic efforts, Kishtwar police manage to capture him as the accused was evading arrest soon after his name figured in the FIR. Police officials in Kishtwar said that efforts are on to arrest the other accused involved in the case and added that the FIR is open. Police sources revealed that at initial stage 8 persons were named in the FIR and added that once the investigation moved forward, more arrests will be made. Meanwhile, Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing August 9 and 10 violence at Padder and Kishtwar arrested three persons Ganga Ram son of Wazir Chand, Thakur Lal son of Ram Puran both residents of Padder and Umesh Kumar son late Harnam Singh resident of Pohi Kishtwar in connection with Padder violence related cases. Ganga Ram and Thakur Lal were arrested from Padder while Umesh Kumar was arrested from Assar while he was heading towards Jammu to evade arrest. Umesh is accused in murder case of Lassa Khandey at Gulabgard Padder, while two others were accused in rioting related cases. The sources said that SIT and Kishtwar police have constituted several teams to arrest over 150 persons declared absconding by the courts in Kishtwar over their alleged involvement in violence related cases. It is pertinent to mention here that Kishtwar police registered FIR against 8 persons and others for shouting anti India, Pro Azadi, Pro Geelani and Pro Taliban slogans on complaint filed by the District Magistrate Kishtwar Baseer Ahmed Khan. |
