POONCH, Oct 25: The YCC defeated MCC Surankote by 131 runs in a one-sided contest to reach the semifinals of the ongoing 2nd Shaheed DySP Manjeet Singh Memorial Twenty20 Cricket Tournament at Degree College ground here today. Earlier, batting first, YCC set a huge target of 210 runs. Yasir was highest scorer with 66 runs off 42 balls while Parvez made 21-ball 48 runs. Aman contributed 37 runs. From MCC, Alyas took two wickets, followed by Danish and Danyal, who shared apiece each. Chasing the target, MCC lost all their wickets for 78 runs. Sajad scored maximum 23 runs. From YCC, Imran and Naveed took two wickets each while Sami bagged one. In this quarterfinal, Member Legislative Council (MLC), Jehangir Hussain Mir was chief guest, who appreciated Shaheed Manjit Club for organising cricket tournament. Meanwhile, in another match of the day, Habib Club registered a narrow two-run win against Amjad Club. Earlier, batting first, Habib Club made 168 runs for the loss of five wickets, which, in reply, Amjad Club could not chase and bowled out for 166 runs. |
