JAMMU, Oct 25: Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) XI , Simula XI and Jammu Jymkhana registered emphatic wins to stay alive in the Eid-Diwali Milan Twenty20 Cricket Cup underway at MA Stadium, here today.
In the first match, JK Police XI defeated Eleven Star by 51 runs. Batting first, JKP XI scored 163 runs for loss of six wickets. Farooq (66) Pankaj (44) and Amit(20) were main scorers. Sunny and Vikrant took two wickets each while Ishant, Sourav and Sunny shared apiece each from Eleven Star XI.
In reply, Eleven Star could not chase and total and lost all their wickets for 112 runs thereby lost the match by 51 runs. Sunny remained top scorer with 21 runs, while Tarun, Arun and Atul contributed 17 runs each. From J&K Police, Rajesh Gill was took five wickets, followed by Shamsher Singh, Ashwani and Sakib, who shared two each. Rajesh Gill was declared man of the match.
In another match of the day, Simula XI scripted a comfortable win against Atman Sports Club. Batting first, Atman made 142 runs with Deepak (58), Surya (30) and Chetan (20) being main contributors to the score.
In reply, Simula Sports achieved the target in 18 overs with four wickets in hand. Dhruv(40), Shashi(37) and Atul (30) were the main scorers. Shubam took three wickets, followed by Sourav, who took two. Dhruv Mahajan was declared man of the match.
Meanwhile, Jammu Jymkhana registered a six wickets win against BCC. Batting first, BCC made 114 runs for six wickets, which, in reply, Jammu Jymkhana chased in 14.3 overs for the loss of four wickets.
Today's matches were officiated by the technical penal including Saleem Ul Rehman, Sandeep Manchanda, Farooq, Sakib and Naresh.
FIXTURE: Christian Sports shall take on Atman Sports; Simula shall face RCC; J&K Police to meet BCC tomorrow. |
