| Six years RI to two brothers in attempt to murder case | | | Jammu, Oct 25 : 1st Additional Sessions Judge Jammu YP Bourney today awarded six years rigorous imprisonment and fine Rs 25000 each to Asha Ram and Ramesh Kumar alias Shekha both sons of Bishan Dass residents of Chagra District Jammu who were facing trial for the last fifteen years. According to the police case on December 11, 1997 complainant Tilak Raj lodged an oral report with SHO P/S Bishnah that Bishan Dass who was also resident of same village on inimical terms with him because of land and on the same day his brother Ashok Kumar was returning from Bari Brahmana by bus and as soon as he alighted at bus stop, all the accused person with common intention to murder and armed with sword caught hold him and started inflicting injuries. On this police registered a case and after completion of investigation challan was presented. 1st Additional Sessions Judge Jammu YP Bourney after hearing Additional Public Prosecutor Harpal Singh for the state observed that prosecution has proved his case and both the convicts are therefore ordered to undergo rigorous imprisonment for five years u/s 307 RPC and also fine of Rs 25000/- each. They further sentenced to undergo one year RI u/s 4/25 Arms Act. Court further observed that both the sentences shall run concurrently. Court further directed that the entire amount of fine, if realized shall be paid to the victim as compensation. JNF |
