| Secy Hsg reviews working of JMC | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 16 : Secretary to Govt Housing & Urban Development Department, Satish Nehru paid visit to the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and reviewed its working. The Secretary discussed in detail the centrally sponsored schemes being implemented under JNNURM.
The progress regarding flats under construction at Sunjwan and In-situ BSUP cases were discussed, and it was instructed that the work be expedited. The Secretary instructed for initiating process of identification of eligible beneficiaries who could be allotted the flats, besides developing common facilities at the site so that the infrastructure is put to optimum use.
Issues regarding construction of Abattoir, realization of user charges, control measures for stray animals etc, were also reviewed in detail. He instructed for ensuring the implementation of provisions of Municipal Corporation Act. It was advised that revenue targets should be achieved in full and Municipal services to the citizens should be rendered with full dedication. The Engineering section was asked to ensure that quality and cost parameters in their work are observed without any compromise.
JMC Commissioner, Kiran Wattal also briefed the Secretary about the ongoing development works and apprised him about the achievement in this regard. |
