| Govt accused for making fraudulent statements regarding refugees package | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 16: Addressing a joint press conference today various POK Refugee Organizations accused the state government for making fraudulent statements regarding the drafting of package for refugees by taking them in confidence as none of the refugee organizations has been called for debate.
The conference was jointly addressed by the six POK refugee organizations which included Movement for Justice for Refugees of 1947 from POK, West Pakistani Refugees Action Committee-1947, Chhamb Displaced Persons (camp) Front 1947, 65 and 71, Jammu and Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee, POJK Refugees Sangarsh Morcha and POK DP's Front (non-camp) 1947, 65 and 71. They said that recent news appearing in the media that a 'Draft Package' of Rs 7000 crore for one time settlement of POJK refugees have been prepared by the state government after taking into confidence various refugees organizations is not true and contradicting as no refugee organization has been ever been called for meeting or discussion on such a vital issue directly concerned with refugees. They further said that have no knowledge of knitty gritty of the draft and alleged that there is no clarity on the categorization of the said package to the various sections of refugees also.
"This has always been our demand that any relief package for us should be made after proper deliberations with us but unfortunately none of the organization has been called for debate over it" they added.
They stated that after a long protracted and consistent struggle by them they made it possible to present their woes and sufferings for the last 66 years before the Parliamentary Standing Committee and Home Affairs at New Delhi followed by presentation in a meeting headed by Home Secretary MHA as well a Parliamentary Sub-Committee in Jammu but unfortunately they have been again deceived by the government. |
