Court awards 3 yrs RI and Rs 15000 fine to Bangladeshi for illegally entering India

Jammu, Nov 16 (JNF): A local court today awarded 3 years rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs. 15,000 to Mohammad Mamoon Haldars son of Abdul Rasshid Haldar resident of village Masnamber Margarh, district Khulna, Bangladeshi, for entering India without any valid documents. After hearing both sides, Principal Sessions Judge Kartar Singh observed that Mohammad Mamoon has found to have committed offences punishable u/s 14-A Foreigners Act and 3/6 Passport Entry to India Act and was therefore convicted u/s 14-A FA Act and sentenced to undergo two rigorous imprisonment and fine Rs 10,000. Court further observed that the accused is further convicted u/s 3 of Passport Entry India Act 1920 and sentenced to undergo one year rigorous imprisonment and fine Rs 5000. Court further said that both the sentences shall run concurrently. The accused was arrested by police on January, 13, 2012 from High Court Chowk Janipur.
