| Bazaz for involving all stake holders for everlasting peace | | | Et Report
JAMMU, Nov 16: Warning that staling peace process on Kashmir may prove dangerous, Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Forum (JKDF) president Bushan Bazaz has urged both State and Central Governments to take immediate steps in initiating a dialogue over Kashmir by involving all shades of opinion. Bazaz who is the son of freedom fighter from the Prem Nath Bazaz strongly advocates for solution of Kashmir tangle through dialogue process and opposes any hardline approach. Having close proximity with Hurriyat leadership and a personnel friend of Hurriyat moderate leader Moulvi Umer Farooq, Bazaz has expressed his concern over persisting stalemate over Kashmir issue and stressed that it must be settled once for all to the best interests of people Kashmir by taking their aspirations into consideration.Bazaz who is putting up in Union Capital and is presently on a tour of the State opposes those who advocate for abdication of peace process with Pakistan and separatists in Valley saying that dialogue is the only solution to all problems in a democracy and rigidity or authoritarianism has to give in at last.Like his father, Bazaz has a different perception on Kashmir and family has supported the settlement of Kashmir issue as per the aspirations of the people of the Valley. Holding both India and Pakistan responsible for present crisis in Kashmir he urged them to bury the hatchet for the best interests of peace and people of the State who have been worst sufferers right from 1947. Advocating for strengthening of dialogue between India and Pakistan Bazaz said that internal strife in Pakistan or the deterioratingrelations between New Delhi and Islamabad should not be allowed to affect the ongoing peace process between the two countries and continuing the dialogue process between two countries and taking it to a logical conclusion should be the top priority of two governments for guaranteeing everlasting peace in Sub Continent. He urged the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to take initiative to start dialogue process within with stake holders so that the peace is restored in strife torn Valley. Holding the Union Government responsible for mass exodus of Kashmir Pandits, Bazaz said whatever happened in Kashmir in last 60 years was due to experimental politics of New Delhi on Kashmir. For the killing of innocent youth and mass exodus of KPs the Delhi Government was totally responsible, he added. Expressing his sympathies with the Pandits who stayed over in Valley Bazaz said that Government was only announcing packages for those Pandits who left the Valley and not for those who despite facing all odds stayed in Valley during turmoil with their Muslim brethren. These people need to be encouraged by announcing special financial and employment package for them, he added. He ridiculed economic initiative to resolve the Kashmir issue saying it is a political problem and needs to be resolved by taking political measures and maintained that the peace in Sub continent is a distant dream without addressing the Kashmir issue. Bazaz made it clear that nothing can be achieved through economic packages till a political initiative is taken to settle the issue by taking all stake holders into confidence. Maintaining that the world was changing fast he said the India, Pakistan and people of State should sit together to settle the issue. |
