Sports Reporter JAMMU, Nov 16: The SAI Club and Diamond Club were among leading teams in the league round of the Jammu District Kho-Kho Championship, organised by Jammu and Kashmir Kho-Kho Association at Green Field ground, here today. The championship, wherein 12 boys and eight girls' teams are taking part, was formally inaugurated by former Sports Minister, Harbans Singh. He interacted with the participating teams and encouraged those young and upcoming boys and girls. Former Minister, who is also president of the Association, disclosed that efforts were being made to promote the game and encourage those practicing the sport in the state. Earlier, general secretary of the Association, B S Tirthi presented a brief report of the two-day competition. The knock-out round of the championship shall take place tomorrow, followed by the finals in both boys and girls sections. The men's final is scheduled to take place at 3.30 pm at the same venue. Today's matches were officiated by the technical penal including Gagan Kumar, Deepak, Anil Kumar, Jaswinder Singh, Mohinder Kumar, Sunil Kumar, Ankush, Bindu Malhotra, Heena Bagal, Raman Kumar, Vishal, Surya Singh and Deepankur Gupta.
