Jammu, Nov 17: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today impressed upon the Chief Minister ,Finance Minister and Chief Secretary to announce 10% DA due from July last in favour of State Govt. employees and pensioners at the next cabinet meeting as the same instalment of DA have already been released by the Central and several other State Governments since long.
Addressing a well attended NMC workers meeting at New Plot Salehar near Arnia Town, Shastri said that employees and pensioners of the State Govt. are waiting for the release of DA for the past more than four months adding that provision for such expenditure already exists in the current year budget estimates and the Govt. should take early decision in this regard which will further strengthen the bonds of the employees and Govt.
While pleading the cause of State Govt. employees and pensioners Shastri, also demanded for removal of all anomalies in the pay scale and merging of 50% DA in the pay scale/basic pension till the implementation of the of the 7th pay commission .He also stressed for increase in the emoluments of the daily wagers by opting a clear cut policy about the regularization of daily wagers serving in various Govt. departments of the State Govt. since long. Shastri further demanded enhancement of medical allowance to rupee one thousand per month beside release of 3rd instalment of 6th pay commission arrears as rising prices of all essential commodities had made life of the pensioners and state government employees very difficult.
