Early Times Report

Jammu, Nov 17: Union Minister and former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has disapproved the governance of Omar Abdullah led coalition Government. Azad had criticized the state government for not releasing enough funds for the development of erstwhile doda district.
Azad, who hails from the Doda district and made huge infrastructural development in the areas when he was the Chief Minister, said work on most of the projects is going on at snail's pace because the state government is not releasing enough funds. Azad is also disturbed over the fact that many projects initiated during his tenure had been deliberately ignored. "Omar is deliberately putting brakes on the projects initiated by Azad during his tenure. Azad is a clear threat to the Omar Abdullah and this is the main reason," said a senior Cong leader. Azad is also disturbed over the fact that Chief Minister didn't visit Kishtwar after the violence to restore confidence of the both the communities and bridge the gaps.
There is pattern behind ignoring the Doda district by Omar Abdullah. Doda district has given maximum seats to the Congress and there is still little chance of NC making any come back there as it's reduced to play a second fiddle by Azad in the Doda district in particular and Jammu region in general. It was for this reason that Doda district was not given representation in the Cabinet after Saroori was removed on flimsy grounds. It was only after the intervention of Azad that Majid Wani was made the Minister who had categorically stated that Azad should be made CM.
Omar is dependent on Congress if he wants to be in power again but the only possible person standing between him and CM seat is Azad. Azad has public following not only in Jammu but even in Kashmir, which he had developed by his work. Congress is hoping to emerge as the single largest part and if the party gets close to 30 seats then Azad would surely emerge as the CM. This is something that Omar doesn't want to happen or see and it's for this reason that he is ignoring Doda giving signal to Azad that he is not welcomed again in the State.
