UDHAMPUR, Nov 17: Police busted a racket of acement black marketing by arresting seven criminals including two kingpins. Police also recovered 1100 bags of substandard cement packed in Ambuja and ACC company bags from their respective hideouts. Giving details, Superintendent of Police, Udhampur Anil Magotra, said that based on reliable information a police party of Police Station, Udhampur led by SHO Inspector Deepak Jasrotia, conducted a raid in a cement store of one Arun Goutam, son of Ashok Raj Goutam of Jakheni. During thorough checking, it was revealed that the said accused in connivance of his father used to fill sub-standard cement in the cement bags of some branded companies like Ambuja and ACC and then used to sell the same in the market with high rates as that of standard brands thereby playing with the lives of innocent civilians. During the raid, police caught 7 accused red handed while filling the substandard quality cement in the bags of these branded cement companies. Police party recovered about 1100 bags of substandard cement packed in Ambuja and ACC cement bags and about 2500 empty bags of Ambuja/ACC Company from the spot and immediately arrested the main kingpins of the racket identified as Arun Goutam son of Ashok Raj Goutam of Jakheni, his father Ashok Raj Goutam son of Rikhi Raj Goutam of Jakheni and their associate identified as Gulshan Kumar son of Mohinder Singh, Dharminder Singh Sson of Ram Dev Singh, Kumodh Singh son of Rama Kant Singh, all residents of Pipper-Ponthi, district Bhagalpur, Bihar and Harbajan Kumar, son of Maheshwar Singh of village Sehran in Kahgaria Bighar and Vikram Singh, son of Kartar Singh of Mand, Udhampur. A case FIR No. 370/2013 U/S 3/7 E.C Act, 482/34/RPC stands registered at Police Station Udhampur and further investigation of the case is going on, the senior police officer maintained. |
