| Several cases settled in Lok Adalats in Kishtwar, Bhaderwah | | | | KISHTWAR / BHAD- ERWAH, Nov 23 : To commemorate the National Lok Adalt Day, special Lok Adalats were held in the District Court Complex Kishtwar and Court complex Bhaderwah. The Lok Adalat at Kishtwar was inaugurated by Principal Distt and Sessions Judge Chairman District Legal Services Authority, Kishtwar Pawan Dev Kotwal in presence of District Development Commissioner, Kishtwar Baseer Ahmed Khan, SP Sanjay Kotwal, ACR Sudershan Kumar, ALC Zakir Wani, DIO Vinay Kumar, Bar Association President O P Parihar and other advocates. A large number of litigants participated in the Lok Adalat wherein three benches were constituted. Bench No 1 was chaired by Pr Distt and Sessions Judge Kishtwar Pawan Dev Kotwal and assisted by Advocate Anjali Gulati. Bench No 2 was chaired by CJM Kishtwar Ajay Kumar Gupta and assisted by Advocate Syed Mohd Arif and Bench No 3 was chaired by Munsiff Kishtwar Umesh Sharma and assisted by Advocate Firdous Ahmed. In the Lok Adalat a total no of 611 cases pertaining to matrimonial cases, traffic, Labour compensation and land disputes were settled through negotiations, mediations and conciliation. Meanwhile, hundreds of cases were taken up at the Lok Adalat held in the Court complex Bhaderwah here on the occasion of National Lok Adalat Day. Organized by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) Doda district, the Lok Adalat was aimed at reducing pendency, while at the same time drawing attention of the public to the efficacious alternative dispute resolution method. |
