Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 23: BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's relentless onslaught has put Congress's star campaigner AICC vice-president and Sonia Gandhi's son Rahul Gandhi on the defensive. As if it was not enough, his sister and wife of land scam accused Robert Vadra, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has made her own share of mistakes. Speaking at Rae Bareli the other day, intending to use the development mantra chanted by the BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi to make her case in favour of her party, Priyanka Gandhi told the gathered people that "development is not happening in Uttar Pradesh even though it is happening in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh". When brought to her notice that Madhya Pradesh is a BJP-ruled State, the visibly upset Priyanka Gandhi said it was a "slip of the tongue" that had caused her to confuse Maharashtra with Madhya Pradesh. Priyanka Vadra, of course, was trying to name Congress-ruled States. However, the same day, Priyanka Gandhi's brother and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, in a speech in Delhi, committed a different sort of faux pas by saying that Karnataka and Maharashtra were BJP-ruled States. Karnataka and Maharashtra are the BJP-ruled States. Even a naïve knows it. The Nehru-Gandhi family that each and every Congress member across the nation brazenly rally behind, calling them the "keepers of India" as we know it does not seem to be in any hurry to acquaint itself with the realities of the country it wants to govern. Fortunately for the nation, these unnerved and bumbling "youth icons" aren't making any impact on the public's perception of the Congress party. That is because the country stands already so disgusted with the Congress that the party could not possibly do anything else to make matters worse.
