Kathua, Nov 23 : The 2 days Red Cross Mela begun with pomp and show at district sports stadium here at Kathua today.
Divisional Commissioner Jammu Shant Manu who was the chief guest on the occasion inaugurated the Mela.
Addressing a large gathering of the people Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Shant Manu who is also Chairman of IRCS Jammu Region highlighted the importance of the Red Cross, said that Red Cross will always play a role of catalyst in bringing spirit of nationalism and integration by serving people during the time of need.
Tributes were also paid to the late S.D Singh Ex Executive Secretary of Indian Red Cross Society Kathua for his contribution to the Red Cross. Honorary Secretary, IRCS Jammu Region, Anil Padha presented the vote of thanks on the occasion he said that Indian Red Cross Society is a pioneer organization, rendering selfless philanthropic services for the betterment of the society.
Earlier DDC Kathua Jitendra K Singh in his welcome address appealed the people of kathua to extend full cooperation by visiting the mela with their friends and families. |
