SRINAGAR, Nov 29: Police on Friday said that two burglars were arrested for stealing goods from a bank in north Kashmir's Kupwara district, while unknown burglars have looted a safe from a shrine in Kokernag area of south Kashmir's Anantnag district. A police official said two burglars identified as Showkat Ahmad Dar and Tariq Ahmad Bhat, residents of Lalpora, Lolab were arrested by cops for stealing two computers and a gas cylinder from Grameen Bank, Lolab last week. The stolen goods were recovered from the possession of the duo. "We have filed a case 89/2013 under section 457, 380 RPC against the accused. Further investigations are in progress," the official added. Meanwhile, in a related incident, unidentified burglars looted the shrine of Syed Jamal-ud-din Bukhari (RA) in Laiser area of Kokernag in Anantnag district and decamped with the safe containing donations. Police has registered a case and started further investigations in this regard.
