India Today survey too predicts doom for Congress | 'Grand Old Party' in trouble | | Rustam JAMMU, Nov 29: Survey after survey conducted by credible agencies like Nielsen, ORG and so on have been predicted a complete route of the Congress party in Delhi. Yesterday, the findings of the two-re-poll surveys in Delhi were made public by ABP News and leading journal India Today. The survey for ABP News was conducted by Nielsen and for India Today by ORG. Both the pre-poll surveys said that while the Congress is losing its support-base at an alarming speed with each passing day, the BJP, which remained in opposition for 15 long years, is growing strong and strong with each passing day. The India Today survey said that Congress would be confined to 18 seats, losing 25 seats and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) may win 10 seats. As for the BJP, the survey said that it would win 40 seats in the elections due on December 4. The findings of the pre-poll survey conducted by Nielsen were the same as far as the AAP is concerned. It may win 10 seats, both the surveys said. Interestingly, the Nielsen survey said that the Congress may win 25 seats in the 70-member Delhi Assembly. The findings of both the surveys were also more or less the same. Whereas the India Today survey gave 40 seats to the BJP, the Nielsen survey said the BJP will win 32 seats. The Nielsen survey, in addition, said that if there is two percent swing in favour of the BJP in 15 to 20 constituencies where the fight is neck to neck between the BJP, Congress and the AAJ, the BJP will win 40 seats. In other words, both the surveys said that the BJP is far ahead of its political foes, Congress and the AAP. It is interesting to note that neither ABP News nor India Today is pro-BJP. In fact, they are critical of the BJP. Since they are not pro-BJP, it can be said that the findings of both the pre-poll surveys were credible. Political analysts say that Narendra Modi factor is greatly working in favour of the BJP in the national capital. Credit goes to the print and electronic media which presents an accurate picture of facts before the people without exhibiting their bias in favour of or against any political party. |
